Each element was painted by hand in watercolor.
The botanical elements featured have a connection to the moon in some way. Artemisia plants - connected to Artemis, the lunar goddess - include mugwort, wormwood, and sagebrush. Gardenia, wintergreen, and poppies are considered traditional lunar plants.
